On Wednesday, March 8 2023, attorneys/representatives from the NC ACLU hosted an event at the MLK Center in Wilmington, NC.

The ACLU discussed the school to prison pipeline here in NHC and across North Carolina. They shared preliminary findings on school-based criminal complaints in both NC and NHC using data from https://www.nccourts.gov/programs/school-justice-partnership/sjp-data.

They also shared information on ACLU’s Know Your Rights initiative, including what to do if confronted by police in school.
